Tooth coloured fillings
If you require a filling, we offer a resin-based tooth-coloured filling.
At our practice, we have decided to only offer tooth-coloured restorations due to the unsightly nature of the metal filling.
It is important that tooth coloured composite fillings are placed in a dry environment to ensure that the bond between the tooth and filling is strong, and you get the best possible result. To ensure this, we isolate the tooth from all the moisture in the mouth using a special dam and this also helps you feel more comfortable during the treatment. A lot of our patients even fall asleep during this procedure!
Sometimes, tooth-coloured fillings can become old and stained, they can benefit from a freshen-up.
Here is an example of a little freshen up of a small filling at the front, this can make such a huge difference to our patients. Or replacing older metal fillings can also make a huge difference aesthetically.
Older fillings often require replacement if they have gaps underneath them or if we diagnose new tooth decay underneath them, and take a look at what a difference this can make!
